observer's log

welcome to the "observer's log" email discussion list!

This email discussion list is dedicated to the discussion of all things in astronomy and space. The hope is that this list blossoms into a powerful and useful tool for all amateur astronomers. We are in the building phases right now, so subscribe and become a "charter member"!

topics encouraged for discussion include:

  • astronomy (news, observing, theories, etc.)
  • space (news, policy, etc.)
  • telescopes, software and any other astronomical equipment including reviews, experiences, etc.
  • telescope making

rules:

  • No commercial ads are allowed. One time posts to let people know you are selling your *personal* astronomy gear is acceptable.
  • Please do not discuss politics or religion unless the discussion is clearly astronomy or space related.
  • When the list administrator asks that a discussion be dropped please respect that decision. Free speech is great but not at the expense of the list's good will.
  • We'll make up more rules as needed.

Subscribe to the "observer's log" by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a public list, which means that the members list is openly available to other list members (but we obscure the addresses so they are not easily recognizable by spammers and you can hide your entry altogether after subscribing).
